“The videos are extremely detailed with a slow and steady pace that is exactly how I best learn. I love that you show/talk about your own mistakes and struggles and how to fix them.”
– Chenoa
Back when my children were very little and I was at the start of my journey as a Waldorf-inspired mom, what lit me up the MOST was the thought of providing my kids with handmade natural toys!
I desperately wanted to dive in and start making toys but everything felt like a struggle. The only resources I found were craft books with vague instructions that left me with so many questions that I often felt like I was wasting my time and materials from all the mistakes I would make.
As I struggled through my first few projects, I kept thinking about how surely there must be so many others out there like me feeling flabbergasted by these craft books.
One day it hit me like a lightning bolt – I could do all the trial and error of figuring things out and then little by little create the resource that I wished already existed for me: step-by-step video tutorials that cover every detail for how to make allll the enchanting waldorfy-crafts!
I felt a burning drive to learn how to make toys for my kids and to immediately pass on the skills and knowledge to others!
I’ve made all the mistakes and wasted all the materials so that you don’t have to. 😂
I am OBSESSED with explaining things super clearly, showing l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y. every single step.
I love showing how to fix mistakes and answering your questions before you even ask them.
“Jessica has a true gift for making the world of toy making feel both magical and doable.
Her work at Toymaking Magic brings such a sense of beauty, joy, and intention to handmade playthings – and she shares it all in a way that’s accessible even to beginners.
Her creativity, warmth, and generous spirit shine through everything she does.”
ROBYN BEAUFOY
“Toymaking Magic feels like a warm hug for homeschoolers who love handmade playthings.
Watching Jessica’s videos is like sitting and crafting with a friend, helping you bring that gentle magic right into your home ~ with simple, beautiful projects and so much heart.
I only wish Toymaking Magic had been around when my kiddos were small. But now I get to make treasures for my grandchildren!”

Learning lots of different crafts is such a thrill and so empowering! Sew a set of Farm Animals! Wet felt a Rainbow Jump Rope! Needle felt a Birthday Crown! Handsaw some Wood Slice Blocks! Crochet a Snail Band! Knit a family of chickens!
You’ll become an unstoppable craft force! Once you start you just can’t stop!
YES! My kids actually LOVED integrating their mainstream toys with my handmade natural toys.
They’d prop up their race tracks with my handmade Heavy Rice Bags and Bean Bags and their race cars would zooooom past the “lake” and “field” they created with blue and green hand-dyed Playsilks… it’s actually kind of a riot.
It’s not about providing your child with a fully stocked Waldorf kindergarden playroom. Just sprinkling a few handmade toys into the mix can do wonders for your child’s ability to get lost in creative play. The ideas they’ll come up with for using the toys you make will…gosh you just gotta experience it to know what it feels like. :)
It’s the best.
A collection of handwork video tutorials created for kids ages 7 and up.
Remember how we talked about passing on your new skills to your kids? You’re going to need some project ideas and I’ve already got you covered.
These tutorials are made especially for kids and my own kids are featured making the projects so that your kids can be inspired by seeing other kids make them too!
This could easily be a separate membership from Toymaking Magic but it’s way more fun for me to give it away as a ridiculously good BONUS!
The tutorials are made for kids to watch and follow along – but if you’re a low-tech family then you might prefer to watch it on your own and then make the project (screen-free) with your child.
For a limited time:
the Weighted Doll Course is included as an EXCLUSIVE BONUS for
4 Seasons Members.
Finally learn how to make a Waldorf-inspired doll!
Ease your way into the world of dollmaking with this sweet weighted doll.
It’s quite doable to make a nice looking doll head on your first try if you are following detailed instruction. However, when stuffing a Waldorf doll body with wool, beginners face challenges of lumpiness and arms and legs that aren’t symmetrically stuffed.
I think you’ll love avoiding those challenges and also the comforting weight of this doll by filling the non-stretchy body with millet instead of wool.
The Weighted Doll Course is not included with One Season Membership – this is a limited time bonus exclusively for 4 Seasons Members.
No need to wait until June 22: You may request immediate access to the Weighted Doll Course upon joining!
While some moms manage to crank out lots of toys, 3 is a doable goal.
I know you’ve got a lot going on, so if you make 3 toys each season, I’d say you’re doing great!
You don’t need huge buckets of free time. In Toymaking Magic you’ll learn how to break projects down into itty bitty steps and make progress in short pockets of time. You’ll be surprised how quickly you complete projects when you take this approach.
In the big picture, the window of time to make these toys for your kids is relatively short.
Listen, my kids are now 9 and 12 and mostly past the stage where they play with my handmade toys.
I didn’t start making toys until my kids were 2 and 5. It was PRIME TIME. I really wish I had started even sooner for my eldest child!
At least I got to witness the difference it made for him to start having these nurturing, calming toys available to him. He went from needing my attention all the live-long day to happily entertaining himself with the toys for hours on end!
This precious time is SHORT! If this is something you REALLY want to do, don’t let any more time go by!
One Season membership will give you access to all of the membership content June 22, 2026 – Sept 20, 2026.

“I originally signed up to get the dragon pattern. My son is obsessed. Not only was I able to make him his dragon but I found the instructions easy to navigate and customize. Also I got better at sewing. I’ve been sewing for 25 years so this was a big surprise! There were lots of little tips and tricks that I picked up and I know I’ll use them in the future.” – Lindsey
“Toymaking Magic is an accessible way to step into the world of Waldorf crafting. It has helped me connect with my child’s school and community.
I appreciate that Jessica’s tutorials are thorough and that she always includes a materials list and resources to purchase them.
I also appreciate the filming-lighting, sound, voice, direction, editing-prepared and articulate, but also real and approachable.
I would tell someone who is considering joining that their subscription is helping a young and independent family live an authentic life full of beauty and purpose.
I’d also tell them to buy their subscription a few months BEFORE birthday gifting, homeschool planning, holiday gift giving, etc in order to buy materials and give enough time to watch and make their toys. There are a TON of amazing tutorials and you’ll want to do more than originally planned.”
“I just wanted to send you a note and tell you how much I am LOVING Toymaking Magic.
I’ve always wanted to get into handcrafts but have felt so intimidated. You make the most beautiful creations feel attainable.
Working through some of your projects has already given me so much confidence and inspiration to now branch out into ideas of my own.
I truly cannot express what a gift your work has been for me.
My daughters adore what I’m making and I haven’t had this much fun in such a long time! I just made the dollhouse today. It didn’t even take me 2 hours and I know my daughters will spend years playing with it.
Thank you, thank you. Please know the work you do is important!”
“Ever since I joined Toymaking Magic, not only did I start making toys with natural materials, but I also became much more mindful of what I buy at the store. After spending hours creating these precious, beautiful toys and seeing my daughter’s excitement and joy, it truly changed my life in so many ways. I still remember making my very first toy, the horse, last year. I could hardly believe I made it with my own hands!
My 5-year-old daughter loves arts and crafts, and she especially enjoyed making the felt and watercolor booklet from Handwork for Kids. It’s such a special bonding activity for us.
My only wish is that I had more time—because I want to make everything Jessica offers on Toymaking Magic! Each project is so unique and beautiful, and her instructions are always clear and easy to follow. I feel so inspired every time I open a new tutorial.”
