This video tutorial is created for children, but you could also watch the tutorial alone to learn how to make the eggs and then then present the activity to your child yourself if you prefer to do crafts without screens.

The tutorial is lengthy and shows every step so that you can follow along and work on your eggs while you watch.

AGE

This project can be done with children of all ages. I imagine that children as young as 4 years old could enjoy helping to felt an egg.

Young children will need lots of help. You will see in the video that my 7 year old needed quite a bit of help while my 10 year old was able to make it all by himself.

Sewing is generally introduced to children around age 6 or 7. If you are doing this project with younger children you can do the sewing portion for them.

Overview

These wet felted hollow eggs are great to make as a decoration for your seasonal table, or as an extra special egg to use in an egg hunt or to give as a gift with a little treasure inside!

Materials Needed

• wool roving
• olive oil soap
• wooden eggs
• embroidery floss or pearl cotton
• detail cutting scissors
• gold eye needle

Other Supplies

• towel
• large bowl
• small dish

Optional:

• 2 sewing pins
• measuring tape
• white vinegar
• ball brause water sprinkler
